On a previous post I talked about breaking some style rules, and decided it would be fun to break some more and see what kind of outfits I could put together. So here are the rules (taken from this article):
1. Never wear black with blue
1. Never wear black with blue
2. Horizontal stripes will make you look heavy
3. Never mix and match prints
4. Sequins and sparkle are for eveningwear only
5. Never wear more than one bold color
6. Always match your shoes with your belt or your purse
7. Never wear white after Labor Day
Now, as most of you should know (and probably do) none of these rules even exist anymore. They are really just old wives tales. Still, they seem to be ingrained in my head (and probably yours too) and every time I step into my closet somewhere deep down inside the rules are telling me not to wear those things in the same outfit. So, I'm just going to break them all together and forever free myself of any doubts when it comes to what I can and can't wear. With luck, this little experiment will turn out well, and at worst I will only discover that these rules existed for a reason and I should never combine those two items again...
