These pictures didn't turn out quite as well as I hoped, its a little hard to see the sequins on my shirt unless close up, but I still think its enough to prove that this is a rule that is easy to break. Now, of course it would be strange to wear a long, sparkly evening gown in the middle of the day, but there is no reason why sparkles and sequins can't be a part of everyday wear. I've always been one to stick to the basics, like a great pair of jeans and fitted blazer, but the sparkly tank just makes the outfit. So, be bold and wear some sequins to your day job, it will brighten up your whole day.
