Paperback Pumpkins

I am so excited about my newest project.  I got the idea from a blog for the Book Garden, a cute little bookstore in Bountiful that I stop by every now and then.

The example in the tutorial used Shakespeare's "Macbeth", which seemed very appropriate for Halloween, so I headed off to the D.I. hoping to find a copy of it as well, or at least, I thought, The Witches by Roald Dahl.  I just didn't think my pumpkin would be the same if I used Confessions of a Shopaholic

I looked through all the books and even though I couldn't find "Macbeth" or The Witches, I came home with "The Tempest" and Goosebumps.  Halloweeny enough right?
I just love them! They are so cute, and even though I felt a little bad at first about cutting into a book (don't worry Dad, they weren't valuable copies!) I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.

Find the tutorial here.

  1. I have wanted to make me one of these for a while, but I have been scared to cut into a book. Now that you have(and you are much more of a book lover/reader than I), maybe I will make one after all...They turned out SO cute!
